Jan Stevenson
Chair
Jan is a recreational cyclist who likes to participate in community rides. When she worked in Golden, she would commute to/from Broomfield three times a week to build a mileage base. No matter how stressful Jan’s work role was, those rides to and from Golden were great mental breaks for her! If she gets enough of a mileage base in a given season, Jan enjoys the longer distance organized rides like Bike MS, Cycle Oregon, and Jan has completed at least five Ride the Rockies.
Living just about as far north as you can go in unincorporated Jefferson County, Jan has been particularly interested in north-south routes. Jan enjoys the pop-up activities that Bike Jeffco hosts as it gives her a great opportunity to interact with Jeffco cyclists and hear what’s on their minds. Jan and the organization are always trying to recruit new members and encourage others to act locally. She believes you should never doubt that you can make a difference in your community.
Jan is a Bike Jeffco veteran! She has primarily been a behind the scenes supporter of the business side of their nonprofit, but has also been Secretary, Treasurer, and now Chair. Like many who work to make biking safer and more fun, what brought her to Bike Jeffco was the cycling death of a co-worker. Jan wasn’t sure what she could do to contribute to making a difference back in 2007, but Jan knew that she had to do SOMETHING. What Jan has learned is that advocacy is a very humbling role. She has to persuade, cajole and be a good community citizen. Successful campaigns for change are multi-year and require a lot of networking and relationship building.

Charlie Myers
Vice Chairman
Charlie’s involvement with Bike Jeffco began after he and his wife moved to Wheat Ridge from New
Orleans in 2008.
Dave Evans, a founding member of Bike Jeffco and the first chairman, appointed Charlie
to the Secretary position in 2013. With Dave’s passing in 2017, the Board approved Charlie to move into
the chair position which he held for four years.
Bike Jeffco projects that Charlie has been very passionate about are the Vision Zero Signage
Subcommittee (3 FEET CLEARANCE signs) and the CO-93 Bikeway Subcommittee, both of which he
heads up.
He also volunteers along with the other vice chair, Mike Raber, with Lakewood Park
Department as a bike patroller at Bear Creek Lake Park and William Frederick Hayden Park at Green
Mountain.
Bike touring has taken him on solo trips such as New Mexico into southern Colorado, Northern Spain,
across Wisconsin and the retracing of a trek made by his Scots-Irish ancestors from Virginia to Ohio.
He
also has done several tours in Colorado and elsewhere with his wife and friends. He led a group tour
from Bergen Park to Aspen called Charlie’s Laid Back and Hopped-Up Tour.
His favorite routes to ride
include Clear Creek Tail, Ralston Creek Trail, Fairmont Trail, Lookout Mountain, and for mountain biking,
Centennial Cone.
Before arriving in Colorado, Charlie lived, biked and had a career in New Orleans with the State of
Louisiana Public Health Department.
He was a member of the local bike club, the Crescent City Cyclists,
and did stints as the ride chairman and the liaison with the League of American Bicyclists.

Dave Hammond
Treasurer
Dave has been a lifelong cyclist with a passion for maps and GIS technology. His mapping expertise has become invaluable in collaborative projects with the County, various municipalities, and for creating routes for fellow cyclists.
When not working with maps, Dave enjoys skiing down Colorado’s slopes and immersing himself in Denver’s vibrant jazz and blues music scene.
His career path led him to the National Park Service Intermountain Regional office in Lakewood, where he worked as a wildfire GIS specialist before retiring.
As part of a specialized team, he traveled throughout the western United States mapping wildfires during emergency situations.
Dave has set himself the goal of visiting all national park units within the eight-state Intermountain region where he previously worked. As a resident of Lookout Mountain, he remains vigilant about safety issues on local roads in that area and throughout west-central Jefferson County.
His dedication to cyclist safety and route planning makes him an excellent Treasurer for the organization.

Pam Logan
Secretary
Pam has been a cyclist since returning to Colorado after college. She discovered a love for cycling when she participated in Ride the Rockies for the first time in 1992.
Many charity rides fundraising for MS, Children’s Hospital, Alzheimers , and the American Diabetes Association blended giving back with a riding challenge.
To build up miles for the longer rides, Pam commuted from her home in Golden to downtown Denver for work. The mental health benefits of cycling became apparent on every commute.
Identifying the safest and most expedient route to work turned into a mission. In 2023 her workplace moved to DTC and Pam turned to a Class 3 Ebike to make the commuting time manageable for the 28 mile each way ride. Since retiring in 2024 after 34 years working as a Petroleum Engineer, Pam has been riding either road or mountain bike every day the sun shines.
She prioritizes riding to visit friends and grocery store trips to live a car-light lifestyle. Her husband of 29 years is her favorite riding buddy but she has given up on keeping up with their two speedy college-aged kids.
Mike Raber
Board Member
Michael Raber became involved in Bicycle Advocacy several decades ago when Martha Roskowski of Bicycle Colorado appealed to bicyclists to appear at a Colorado House of Representatives Transportation Subcommittee meeting in support of safer bicycle legislation.
Michael affiliated with Bike Jeffco after getting to know Dave Evans who was one of the cofounders of Bike Jeffco which was formed in 1998 at the request of Jefferson County’s Transportation & Engineering Department.
He has been actively involved in testifying at the Colorado House and Senate Subcommittee hearings for bicycle legislation since 2008, inspired by former Colorado Representative Andy Kerr after listening to his address in the Colorado Capitol Rotunda greeting cyclists attending the Bicycle Colorado Legislative Day at The Capital.
Michael is a League of American Bicyclist Nationally Certified Instructor, City of Lakewood Volunteer Courtesy Bike Patroller along with Charlie Myers, USAC licensed bicycle racer since 1971. He has bicycled in Asia, South Pacific, North America, Central America, South America, and throughout Europe. Much of Michel’s touring has been done with the Cyclist Touring Club which is based in England, and he regularly returns to Italy and Mallorca Spain for cycling.
Michael’s Bike Jeffco activity is focused on bicycle Infrastructure improvements, Bicycle Best Practices education, and networking with Colorado city, county, state representatives on bicycle related activities.

Peter McNutt
Board Member
Peter has dedicated decades to bicycling and finds joy in sharing his extensive knowledge with fellow riders. He specializes in introducing others to “Bike-Friendly Street” routes throughout the Denver Metro Area, focusing on paths with reduced auto traffic and lower speed limits.
When COVID-19 changed daily routines, Peter discovered the Denver Bike-Streets App, a crowd-sourced network of preferred cycling routes. This discovery sparked a collaboration with Avi Stopper, the app’s developer, to expand the network by adding specific bike routes around Lakewood.
In his younger years, Peter’s passion for cycling took him on adventures across the western United States and Canada during his mid-20s. A Boulder native, his Colorado roots run deep, having lived in Denver, Arvada, and now Lakewood.
With an engineering background, Peter approaches cycling challenges methodically, always seeking the optimal solution to any problem. This analytical mindset, combined with his extensive riding experience, makes him a valuable resource for developing safer, more accessible biking options throughout the community.
Teri Vogel
Board Member
Teri has become a dedicated advocate for bicycle, vulnerable road user (VRU), and roadway safety across local, state, and national platforms. She actively engages with legislative processes, helping to develop and introduce proposals that improve safety conditions for all who share the road.
With a passion for education, Teri works to promote safe cycling and VRU opportunities throughout communities and trail systems. Her expertise has made her a valued guest speaker with two hospital trauma prevention programs, where she focuses specifically on teen driver safety and crash prevention strategies.
When she’s not advocating for safety improvements, Teri enjoys recreational cycling on Colorado’s routes. Her love for the outdoors extends to hiking and stand-up paddleboarding whenever the weather permits. At home, Teri finds balance and joy as a Golden Retriever “Mom,” sharing her outdoor adventures with her four-legged companion.
