Subject: House Testimony Tomorrow – 1:30pm
I just got word from our lobbyist that our Vulnerable User Bill, SB19-175 was assigned to and will be heard by the House Health and Insurance Committee tomorrow afternoon at 1:30pm. This was a surprise to both of us as we were ready to testify Thursday to a different committee, so I’m scrambling to line up testimony for tomorrow.

We had a good showing in the Senate with votes as follows:
Senate Judiciary 5-0
Senate Finance 7-0
Senate Appropriations 10-0
Committee of the Whole  32-2

Of course, now it’s all up to the House Health Committee, and we’d welcome your testimony at tomorrow’s hearing.

As a reminder the bill establishes penalties for people convicted of careless driving that causes serious bodily injury to vulnerable users, including 12 points on the violators drivers license and the option for the court to assign community service and/or a driver improvement course.

Please let me know if you’re available to help support the bill tomorrow!  You can reach me anytime via cell at 303-514-8389.
Thanks,
Piep
